Colorado real estate executive Darwin Horan possesses over 20 years of experience in residential construction, real estate management, and land development. Currently, Darwin Horan serves as president and founder of Ventana Capital, a firm specializing in real estate development. In his spare time, Mr. Horan is an avid reader and names the American novelist Robert Ludlum as his favorite author.

Born in New York, Ludlum was raised in small, wealthy New Jersey suburb. In his youth, he set his sights on becoming an actor, giving up his dream temporarily to join the Marine Corps. After returning from a post in the Pacific, Ludlum went on to become a Broadway actor and producer. Twenty years later, his theater career slowed down, prompting him to become a writer.
Ludlum wrote the first of his 27 books, The Scarlatti Inheritance, in 1971. His formulaic thrillers garnered worldwide acclaim and sold over 400 million copies worldwide. Many of Ludlum’s sensational novels have been adapted for film and television, the most notable being the Jason Bourne trilogy starring Matt Damon.
Ludlum, who also wrote under the pseudonyms Jonathan Ryder and Michael Shepherd, passed away in 2001 at the age of 73 in Naples, Florida.
